The Government Chief Whip, Denis Hamson Obua, has handed over 630 iron sheets to selected schools and a religious institution in Ajuri County.
The handover ceremony took place at the Alebtong District Local Government headquarters and was attended by district leaders including Chief Administrative Officer Franko Olaboro and Resident District Commissioner Geoffrey Okiswa.
According to Obua, the iron sheets were secured through the Office of the Prime Minister under the Northern Uganda Rehabilitation Programme for the FY 2025/26 financial year.
Obua said the initiative aims to improve housing and infrastructure conditions for institutions and vulnerable communities across Northern Uganda.
Beneficiaries of the Support
The iron sheets were distributed to several institutions in the district, including:
Alanyi Primary School – 100 iron sheets
Amugu Secondary School – 150 iron sheets
Omoro Senior Secondary School – 150 iron sheets
Alebtong Yahew Pentecostal Church – 230 iron sheets
Obua noted that the support will help improve infrastructure, enhance the learning environment for pupils and students, and support community places of worship.
He also expressed appreciation to the government for its continued support toward rebuilding and strengthening communities in Northern Uganda.
