President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday received visiting delegations from Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria following his inauguration ceremony for a new presidential term.
Among the leaders received was Manuel Osa Nsue Nsua, who paid a courtesy visit to the Ugandan leader shortly after the swearing-in events in Kampala.
President Museveni also hosted George Akume, who represented the Nigerian government during the inauguration activities.
The meetings formed part of a series of diplomatic engagements held on the sidelines of the ceremony, which attracted regional and international delegations from across Africa and beyond.
Following the courtesy visits, the visiting delegations were later seen off as they departed Uganda for their respective countries.
The engagements highlighted Uganda’s continued diplomatic relations with African partner states and reflected ongoing cooperation on regional integration, trade, peace, and political collaboration.
Museveni’s inauguration ceremony drew several foreign dignitaries, government officials, and representatives of political organizations, underlining Uganda’s regional diplomatic ties and strategic partnerships across the continent.
