The House of Bishops of the Church of Uganda sitting at Daniel Uganda Missional Centre in Lweza, today 17th April 2024, has elected Rev Canon Jacob Ateirweho as the 6th Bishop of the Diocese of Bunyoro Kitara.

He will be consecrated and enthroned as the 6th Bishop on 11th August 2024 at St Peter’s Cathedral, Hoima.

Rev Canon Jacob Ateirweho was born on 24th August 1968 in Hoima Hospital, Hoima District.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour on 5th April 1991. He was ordained Deacon on 5th February 2006 and priested on 23rd July 2006.

He is married to Irene Kobusinge and God has blessed them with 5 Biological Children.

Rev Canon Jacob Ateirweho holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity from Uganda Christian University.

He is currently the Vicar of All Saints Church, Hoima Town Parish in the Diocese of Bunyoro Kitara.
