Three key government watchdogs  the Inspectorate of Government (IG), Office of the Auditor General (OAG), and the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA)  have launched a joint five-year Anti-Corruption Campaign aimed at strengthening accountability in the public sector.

Speaking at the launch, Inspector General of Government Aisha Naluzze said the initiative will focus on recovering stolen public funds, pushing for stronger laws on asset recovery and witness protection, and enforcing existing anti-corruption regulations.

The campaign will also prioritize citizen engagement, encouraging the public to play a more active role in reporting corruption, while improving oversight through regular evaluations and transparent progress reports.

Officials say the coordinated effort is intended to rebuild public trust and ensure better management of public resources across government institutions.

Uganda’s key anti-corruption agencies have launched a five-year campaign focused on asset recovery, stronger laws, and public engagement to improve accountability and restore trust in government.
