Trump Warns Iran of ‘Dire Consequences’ as US Strikes Escalate in Yemen

US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, vowing that Tehran will be held responsible for every attack launched by Yemen’s Houthi rebels on international shipping lanes.

His statement follows a series of Houthi missile and drone strikes targeting the USS Harry S Truman in the Red Sea, prompting intensified US military action in the region.

Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump declared that “every shot fired by the Houthis” would be considered an attack from Iran itself, signaling a significant escalation in US rhetoric. The Pentagon has responded with its most extensive military operation in the Middle East since Trump’s return to office, striking 30 targets in Yemen, including Houthi drone experts and key military infrastructure.

While Washington insists the strikes aim to restore security in the region and protect global trade routes, Iran has dismissed US accusations of supplying weapons and intelligence to the Houthis. Tehran’s UN envoy has denied any involvement in destabilizing activities, calling the US claims “baseless.”

Meanwhile, the Houthis claim their repeated missile and drone attacks on the US aircraft carrier have disrupted American operations, though US officials maintain that none of the strikes have been successful. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell emphasized that the campaign is not aimed at regime change but at neutralizing threats to shipping and regional stability.

With casualties reported on the ground in Yemen and tensions mounting between the US and Iran, the conflict threatens to spiral further, raising concerns about a broader confrontation in the Middle East.
