The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat has called on opposition leaders in the Acholi sub-region to return to the fold of the \u2018original\u2019 FDC party, emphasizing the need for solidarity amid internal conflicts.<\/p>\n

During a rally in Gulu City over the weekend, Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat urged opposition leaders in the Acholi sub-region to rejoin the main faction of the party. Amuriat’s call comes in response to a recent split, where some members from the Acholi sub-region aligned with the rival Katonga faction led by Dr. Kizza Besigye.<\/p>\n

Amuriat specifically reached out to notable figures such as Betty Aol Ocan, the Gulu City Woman legislator, and Denis Ameere Onekalit, the MP for Kitgum Municipality, inviting them to return \u201chome\u201d to the main FDC leadership.<\/p>\n

These legislators are among the prominent FDC members in Parliament from the Acholi sub-region who have distanced themselves from Amuriat and FDC Secretary-General Nathan Nandala Mafabi.<\/p>\n

Addressing FDC supporters in Gulu City, Amuriat emphasized that despite the ongoing internal disputes, the essence of the FDC party remains unchanged. “There is no other FDC party,” he declared, urging those who have left to come back and strengthen the party\u2019s unity and resolve.<\/p>\n

Nathan Nandala Mafabi echoed Amuriat\u2019s sentiments, expressing disappointment over the departure of key members from the sub-region at a time when unity is crucial for bolstering support for the FDC nationwide. Mafabi stressed the importance of collective effort in the face of political challenges.<\/p>\n
