The aftermath of the Israeli military’s ground operations in October has left the neighborhood in ruins, with shattered buildings and debris marking the site where homes and businesses once stood. Now, amid the devastation, the people of Deir Al Balah face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up.<\/p>\n

As the first rays of morning light pierce through the dust-filled air, the residents of Deir Al Balah begin to trickle back into their neighborhood. The once-vibrant streets are now a maze of rubble and broken dreams. The sounds of children’s laughter and street vendors calling out their goods have been replaced by an eerie silence, punctuated only by the crunch of debris underfoot.<\/p>\n

For Um Mohammed, a mother of four, this homecoming is almost unbearable.
