First Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda and Minister for East African Community Affairs.r and Kamuli District Woman MP Rebecca Kadaga disclosed two assassination attempts on her life, allegedly orchestrated by an individual within the government.<\/p>\n

Kadaga\u2019s shocking claims came on the heels of Buzaya Constituency MP Martin Muzaale\u2019s grievances about political opponents using gangs to attack him and his supporters. The alarming details have intensified political tensions in Kamuli District as concerns over targeted violence and threats against local leaders mount.<\/p>\n

During her annual giveback event for the elderly in Kamuli District, First Deputy Premier Rebecca Kadaga shocked attendees with revelations of two assassination attempts on her life.<\/p>\n

The Kamuli District Woman MP disclosed that these attempts were orchestrated by an individual connected to the government, though she stopped short of naming the mastermind behind the plots. The event, meant to provide a platform for the elderly to voice their challenges, quickly turned into a stage for a chilling narrative about escalating political violence.<\/p>\n

Muzaale explained that his political opponents have been using groups of five individuals to attack his supporters, particularly during public events. These gangs reportedly hurl insults, provoke fights, and intimidate his political assistants. In recent months, at least a dozen of his political aides have faced verbal or physical assaults across various sub-counties.<\/p>\n

Amid Muzaale\u2019s recounting of these violent encounters, Kadaga took the opportunity to reveal that she too has been a victim of targeted political attacks this time, with life-threatening consequences. According to Kadaga, there were two plots to assassinate her, both of which she narrowly survived.<\/p>\n

The first incident involved sugarcane farmers who were allegedly instructed to ram their trucks, loaded with sugarcane, into her convoy on the Jinja-Kamuli highway. The goal was to make her death appear as a tragic road accident. \u201cThey wanted my life to end in a crash, so it would seem like a mere road mishap,\u201d Kadaga explained. The second plot was even more sinister. Hired counterfeit money dealers at Buwagi Trading Center were allegedly instructed to create chaos and assassinate Kadaga in the ensuing confusion. The plan was to frame the incident as an act of violence committed by disoriented youth.<\/p>\n

These assassination attempts, Kadaga claimed, were all part of a broader plan to eliminate her from the political scene. Though she did not name the individual behind the plots, her statement has left many wondering about the extent to which political figures are being targeted by their own government or factions within it.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has yet to comment on Kadaga\u2019s allegations, but the police are expected to launch an investigation into the claims.<\/p>\n
