The election, scheduled for Thursday, seeks to fill the vacancy left by the late Sarah Mateke Nyirabashitsi. Addressing large crowds at rallies in Muramba Sub County and Shaza Grounds in Kisoro Municipality, Museveni emphasized that the NRM\u2019s track record of progress and stability uniquely positions it to improve livelihoods in Kisoro and beyond.<\/p>\n

Museveni\u2019s message highlighted the importance of party allegiance when choosing leaders, urging voters to prioritize candidates from a party with a proven commitment to national development. \u201cAlways ask candidates seeking leadership which political party they belong to. The NRM has demonstrated capacity for development over many years, unlike parties that stunted Uganda\u2019s growth for over two decades after independence,\u201d he told the assembled crowds.<\/p>\n
