President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is set to visit Karamoja Sub Region from December 3 to December 5, 2024, to assess the progress of the Parish Development Model (PDM) activities.<\/p>\n

This visit comes as part of the President\u2019s ongoing nationwide tour aimed at evaluating the effectiveness and impact of the PDM, which is a government initiative to address poverty and promote economic empowerment at the grassroots level. During his visit, President Museveni will interact with beneficiaries of the programme, hear from local leaders, and engage with various stakeholders, including technical staff working on the implementation of the model.<\/p>\n

The PDM, launched in 2021, aims to address the challenges faced by Uganda’s rural communities by promoting sustainable livelihoods through a focus on production and income generation. The President has previously visited Teso and Bukedi Sub Regions, where he expressed satisfaction with the programme\u2019s implementation.<\/p>\n

In Karamoja, President Museveni\u2019s visit is expected to highlight the challenges specific to the region, including issues related to food security, infrastructure development, and income-generating projects for the population.
