The Speaker of Uganda\u2019s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, brought a mix of energy and humor to the opening ceremony of the Inter-Parliamentary Games as she participated in a 100-meter curtain-raiser race alongside regional leaders.<\/p>\n

Held in Nairobi, Kenya, the event featured notable participants, including Kenya\u2019s President, H.E. Dr. William Ruto, Speaker of Kenya\u2019s National Assembly, Hon. Moses Wetang\u2019ula, and Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir.<\/p>\n

In a lighthearted gesture, Speaker Among playfully allowed the hosts to clinch the victory, saying, \u201cI deliberately let the President and Governor win to ensure our hosts feel appreciated and to maintain the exciting atmosphere around the games!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The race set the tone for the week-long sporting event, which brings together parliamentarians from across the East African region. It is aimed at fostering regional unity, promoting wellness, and providing a platform for networking among legislators.<\/p>\n
