US singer Chris Brown has been released on bail by a London court after being charged with grievous bodily harm in connection with an alleged unprovoked attack at a nightclub in 2023.<\/p>\n
The 36-year-old Grammy-winning artist was not present at Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday, where a judge ruled he must pay a \u00a35 million security fee as a condition of bail. Brown has not yet entered a plea.<\/p>\n
The charge stems from an incident at Tape nightclub in London\u2019s Mayfair district, where Brown is accused of attacking a music producer with a tequila bottle. The alleged assault occurred last year but resulted in his arrest in Salford last Thursday.<\/p>\n
Initially denied bail on Friday, Brown had been held in custody for several days. The court reversed that decision on Wednesday, allowing his release on the condition that \u00a34 million be paid immediately, with the remaining \u00a31 million due within seven days.<\/p>\n
The court emphasized that the security fee acts as a financial guarantee that Brown will return for future court appearances. If he violates bail terms, the amount could be forfeited.<\/p>\n
Despite the legal proceedings, Brown is still expected to proceed with his world tour, which kicks off in Amsterdam on 8 June. UK dates include shows in Manchester, London, Cardiff, Birmingham, and Glasgow throughout June and July.<\/p>\n
