Uganda Cranes midfielder Allan Okello has completed a high-profile transfer to Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga), bringing to an end a successful and influential spell at Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC.<\/p>\n

Vipers confirmed Okello\u2019s departure on Monday, with the transfer fee reportedly in the region of $500,000, making it one of the most lucrative moves involving a Uganda-based player in recent years.<\/p>\n

\u201cVipers Sports Club has officially confirmed the departure of midfield star Allan Okello, bringing the curtain down on a remarkable and trophy-laden spell at St Mary\u2019s Stadium, Kitende, following the completion of his transfer to Tanzanian giants Young Africans (Yanga),\u201d the club said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Later in the evening, Yanga officially unveiled the 25-year-old playmaker through a polished presentation video, revealing him in the club\u2019s iconic green and yellow colours.
\nOkello leaves Kitende as a domestic double winner, having played a pivotal role in Vipers\u2019 2024\/25 Uganda Premier League and Stanbic Uganda Cup triumphs, a campaign widely regarded as one of the most successful in the club\u2019s history.
\nThe former KCCA FC star, who impressed during the recent CHAN tournament, joined Vipers in September 2023 from Algerian top-flight side Paradou. He quickly established himself as the team\u2019s creative fulcrum, dictating play, unlocking defences and delivering in decisive moments.<\/p>\n

\nDuring the 2024\/25 season, Okello finished as the Uganda Premier League\u2019s top scorer with 19 goals, a rare achievement for an attacking midfielder and a clear reflection of his influence in Vipers\u2019 title-winning run.
\nOverall, he scored 24 league goals and provided 13 assists in 58 UPL appearances, while also adding four goals and two assists in the Uganda Cup across his two-and-a-half seasons at the club.<\/p>\n

On the continental stage, Okello featured prominently for the Venoms in the 2025\/26 Caf Champions League, helping Vipers reach the second preliminary round, with his composure, creativity and leadership standing out throughout the campaign.
