From rural counties in Katakwi, Bukedea and Amuria to the newly created districts of Kalaki and Kapelebyong, voters largely opted for ruling party candidates, citing experience and access to government programs.

However, the results also revealed a quiet but consistent willingness by the electorate to look beyond party labels. Independent candidates claimed key victories in Kumi Municipality, Pingire County in Serere District, and Orungo County in Amuria District, while the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) registered notable wins in Soroti City East and the Soroti City Woman MP race.

Soroti City stood out as the most competitive political battleground in the sub-region. The city split its representation between the NRM and the opposition, with FDC candidates securing two of the three available seats, underscoring the growing influence of opposition politics in urban Teso.

In Pallisa District, the NRM completed a clean sweep, retaining all parliamentary seats, while Katakwi and Soroti districts delivered near-total victories for the ruling party. Serere District offered a mixed outcome, sending both NRM and independent legislators to Parliament.

Overall, the Teso vote reflected a region that remains firmly aligned with the ruling party, but increasingly open to individual merit and alternative voices, particularly in municipalities and urban centers. Political analysts say the pattern mirrors a broader national trend in which voters balance loyalty to the ruling establishment with a desire for accountability and local representation.

Teso Sub-Region: Officially Elected Members of Parliament

Kumi District
Kumi Municipality: Silas Aogon (Independent)
Kumi County: Okasai Opolot (NRM)
Kanyum County: Opolot Okwalinga (NRM)
Woman MP: Apolot (Independent)

Ngora District

Kapir County: Abraham Isamat (NRM)
Ngora County: Achayo Juliet (NRM)
Woman MP: Pedun Florence (NRM)
Kapelebyong District
Kapelebyong County: Akorikin Francis (NRM)
Woman MP: Atuto Jacinta (NRM)

Soroti City
Soroti City East: Attan Moses (FDC)
Soroti City West: Echodu Calvin (NRM)
Woman MP: Acom Alobo Joan (FDC)

Bukedea District
Kachumbala County: Opolot Isiagi (NRM)
Bukedea County: Okwere Beecham (NRM)
Woman MP: Among Annet Anita (NRM)

Katakwi District
Ngariam County: Peter Ogwang (NRM)
Toroma County: Osiyya Solomon (NRM)
Usuk County: Ongongorok (NRM)
Woman MP: Alupo Jessica Epel (NRM)

Serere District
Serere County: Omoding Emmanuel (NRM)
Kasilo County: Emaju Peter Paul (NRM)
Pingire County: Ojiit (Independent)
Woman MP: Achom Esther Lucy (Independent)

Soroti District
Gweri County: Ariko Herbert (NRM)
Soroti County: Aeku Patrick (NRM)
Dakabella County: Edeku Edopu (NRM)
Woman MP: Adeke Anna Ebaju (FDC)

Kalaki District
Kalaki County: Ongalo-Obote (NRM)
Woman MP: Ajilo (NRM)
Amuria District
Orungo County: Gen.
