The Executive Director of the Uganda Communications Commission, Nnyombi Thembo, has cautioned Ugandans against misusing social media despite recent court rulings affecting parts of the Computer Misuse Act.<\/p>\n
Thembo clarified that while the Constitutional Court of Uganda nullified certain provisions of the law, this does not grant freedom to engage in harmful online behavior.<\/p>\n
He emphasized that actions such as online abuse, spreading harmful or misleading content, and other forms of digital misconduct remain punishable under existing laws.<\/p>\n
The Commission is urging the public to use social media responsibly, highlighting its value in areas such as business, education, and communication, rather than as a platform for harm.<\/p>\n
