According to Racheal Kawala, the\u00a0 occurred on April 14, 2026, at am as passengers were boarding a bus bound for Mbarara.<\/p>\n
A bus conductor was approached by an unidentified man who requested that his luggage be transported. During routine checks, the conductor asked the passenger to open the bag for inspection\u2014a standard precaution at busy transport hubs.<\/p>\n
The conductor then took the initiative to physically inspect the luggage, leading to a shocking discovery.<\/p>\n
Authorities were quickly alerted, and officers responded to secure the weapon and begin investigations.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolice responded swiftly after receiving information from the bus conductor, and upon inspection of the luggage, an AK-47 rifle with an empty magazine and no ammunition was recovered,\u201d SP Kawala confirmed.<\/p>\n
