Dr. Chris Mukiza, Executive Director of the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, and outgoing Rubanda West MP Moses Kamuntu were involved in a heated altercation at a high-end hotel facility following a vehicle scratch.<\/p>\n

According to eyewitnesses, the incident began at the exit gate when Dr. Mukiza, driving a government-issued Toyota Land Cruiser, reportedly knocked Kamuntu\u2019s vehicle. Sources say Kamuntu attempted to leave the premises, but was confronted, leading to a verbal exchange that quickly escalated.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe argument became very heated. People could see it was getting out of control,\u201d one witness said. \u201cThen suddenly, a gun was involved.\u201d<\/p>\n
Witnesses claim that during the confrontation, Dr. Mukiza reached into his vehicle and pulled out a pistol. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when the firearm reportedly malfunctioned, causing the magazine and bullets to fall to the ground before any shot could be fired.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a very frightening moment. People started moving away quickly,\u201d another eyewitness added. \u201cIf that gun had worked, the situation could have been much worse.\u201d<\/p>\n
No injuries were reported, but the incident has raised serious concerns about public safety and the conduct of high-profile officials in tense situations.<\/p>\n
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter, and it remains unclear whether any arrests or investigations have been initiated.<\/p>\n
