<\/p>\nThe NRM Women\u2019s League has intensified nationwide mobilisation efforts, rallying thousands of women to participate in the upcoming 52nd Birthday Run of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, with a strong focus on charity and community support.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) headquarters in Kampala after purchasing kits worth Shs10 million, Publicity Secretary Norah Robinah Akwi said the initiative goes beyond celebration and is aimed at supporting vulnerable children across the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you look at this T-shirt, it says \u2018run for hope\u2019. This is not just about a birthday\u2014it is about running for hope,\u201d Akwi said.<\/p>\n
She highlighted the growing number of vulnerable children, including orphans and street children, urging women nationwide to participate in the run as a way of giving back to society.<\/p>\n
Akwi also commended the PLU organising team, including Secretary General David Kabanda and Head of Mobilisation Michael Mawanda, for their efforts in preparing for the event.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Buganda Region Women\u2019s League Vice Chairperson Juliet Nassuna called on women to turn up in large numbers.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m mobilising my fellow women from Buganda to come and participate in this run,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Organisers expect thousands of participants from across Uganda, with the Women\u2019s League playing a key role in ensuring strong female representation.<\/p>\n
Other leaders who contributed to the initiative include General Secretary Jackline Amongin, National Treasurer Ann Ruyondo Lumumba, Western Region Vice Chairperson Enid Mwesigye, Eastern Region Vice Chairperson Grace Omuron, and Karamoja Vice Chairperson Margret Lomoyange.<\/p>\n
They were joined by members of the NRM Youth League, including Natasha Ahereza and Amiyo Judith, who emphasized teamwork and unity among women.<\/p>\n
