Nigeria Vice President Kashim Shettima has described Nigeria as a great nation with enormous future potential, citing projections that the country could become the world\u2019s third most populous nation by 2050.<\/p>\n
Speaking in Plateau State, Shettima said Nigeria\u2019s population is expected to grow to approximately 440 million people within the next three decades, surpassing the United States in population size.<\/p>\n
The Vice President said the projected demographic growth positions Nigeria as a major global force with increasing influence in economic, political, and social affairs.<\/p>\n
\u201cNigeria is a great country,\u201d Shettima said, while highlighting the country\u2019s strategic importance both within Africa and internationally.<\/p>\n
He further noted that by the end of the century, \u201cone out of every two black men will be a Nigerian,\u201d underscoring what he described as Nigeria\u2019s growing demographic significance on the global stage.<\/p>\n
Nigeria is already Africa\u2019s most populous country and one of the continent\u2019s largest economies. Analysts say the country\u2019s rapidly growing youth population presents both major opportunities and challenges, including the need for increased investment in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and job creation.<\/p>\n
