A high-stakes dispute has erupted between businessman Dan and singer Catherine Kusasira after Dan claimed that the vehicle he purchased from her was sold without proper clearance from the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).

Dan is now demanding a refund of UGX 200 million, alleging that the transaction has caused him severe financial losses. The controversy surrounds a Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number UBF 610S, which Kusasira allegedly received as a gift from President Museveni.

Three years ago, Kusasira reportedly assured Dan that she was the legitimate owner of the vehicle and that all paperwork was in her name. Trusting this assurance, Dan paid UGX 200 million in cash and proceeded to resell the car.

However, potential buyers pulled out of the deal after conducting their own verifications. It was only after one buyer raised concerns that Dan visited the URA, where he was informed that the vehicle had unresolved registration issues. Authorities advised him to return it to the original owner, leaving him stranded with a massive financial setback.

As tensions rise, Dan insists that Kusasira must refund his money, while the singer has yet to publicly respond to the allegations. The case highlights the risks of high-value transactions without thorough legal due diligence and raises questions about the ownership of state-issued assets.
