The minister for general Duties| Focal point minister in-charge of SDGs from the office of prime minister understands that the very crucial way to solve African’s problems is through collaborative partnership in enaching and facilitating the delivery of all sustainable development goas.
In her speech at the official opening statement side event at the UN SDG Summit 2023 at the Uganda House in New with the officials from Government of Ghana, United Nations Development of economic and social Affairs, UN women in Uganda and CSO partnership for Development Effectiveness and Reality for Aid Africa in attendance, Rt Hon said as a world to move their should be a collaboration in designing actions that will impact country, Regional and global efforts towards achieving the Sustainable development goals.
” In Uganda, we have already embarked on several Accelerator Actions using a partnership approval including a parish development model which is our strategy for organizing and delivering public and private sector interventions for wealth creation and employment generation at the parish level which is the lowest economic planning unit in the country,” said Rt.Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba.
The vision if the National partnership forum is to maximize the effectiveness of all forms of cooperation for development for the shared benefit of people. Through the partnership forum, it’s believed that consensus on priority actions even in these times of growing complexity and competing urgencies in every country. The government balancing budget support to the public sector while promoting whole of society approaches through project finding the right balance between short term results and long term capacity building and sustainability.
The minister affirms that they will continue to mobilize partnership support and commitments in full recognition of the matter at hand and the need to create a refined modus operandi if they are to reach the SDG targets.
This year’s theme is based on Accelerator Actions and Partnerships for SDG delivery by 2030 held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
