The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations comes to an end on Sunday, February, with Nigeria vs Ivory Coast facing off in the final.

Nigeria’s history in the AFCON finals since they made their debut at the tournament in 1963. The Super Eagles have played in seven AFCON finals in their history, and their record is not pretty.

In another report, Ivory Coast forward, Sebastien Haller, has hinted at seeking revenge against Nigeria. The 29-year-old, who missed the previous meeting between both teams, was crucial in guiding Les Elephants to the final with a decisive goal against DR Congo.

The Borussia Dortmund star harbors hopes of lifting the AFCON title at the Stade Alassane Outtara.

Democratic Republic of Congo defender, Dylan Batubinsika has made his prediction for the final between the two West African giants.

The Super Eagles are eyeing their fourth title while Ivory Coast are seeking their third AFCON crown, per Optra Analyst.

The two nations have had contrasting journeys to the final. The Elephants overcame setback after setback to reach the final, while Jose Peseiro’s side are still undefeated in the competition.

Batubinsika, speaking exclusively, he said that the final would be hard to call but reminded everyone that Ivory Coast are at home.

“Playing at home could be an advantage for Ivory Coast, but you know Nigeria is a good team and let us remember this will be the final, and we will see how things will work out. One thing is that this is the final, and anything could happen, although Ivory Coast has a home advantage.”

DR Congo were eliminated in the semi-final by Ivory Coast and will face South Africa in the third-place playoff, per CAF.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draws to a close on Sunday evening and for the first time in 18 years, the hosts have reached the final
