Lieutenant General Sam Okiding, Deputy Chief of Defence Forces, lauded the Zimbabwe Defence Forces for their proactive stance in forging alliances with the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces to tackle security challenges within their nations.

At a gathering hosted at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs Headquarters in Mbuya, Lt Gen Okiding conveyed his appreciation during a courtesy call by the Chief of Staff-Defence Intelligence from the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.

Major General Moyo, representing the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, emphasized the strategic importance of such bilateral visits, highlighting the potential for mutual benefit through the exchange of critical information, particularly concerning contemporary threats such as terrorism.

The delegation from the Zimbabwe Defence Forces embarked on a three-day visit to Uganda, signifying a commitment to enhancing cooperation between the two countries’ Defence Forces.

Brigadier General Abdul Rugumayo, Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security of UPDF, joined the meeting, demonstrating Uganda’s dedication to fostering collaborative efforts in addressing defense and security challenges.
