Uganda has clinched the coveted title of the leading investment destination in Africa at the esteemed Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) 2024 held in Abu Dhabi.

Building upon its previous triumph as the foremost UAE investment destination in East Africa, Uganda’s ascension to the continental pinnacle underscores its burgeoning appeal to international investors.

The accolade, bestowed at the prestigious AIM 2024, underscores Uganda’s exceptional performance in attracting foreign investments, surpassing its regional counterparts. Notably, the evaluation criteria encompassed investments garnered since the preceding year, with a focus on concluded and impending ventures by the end of 2024.

In a resounding testament to Uganda’s allure, the country secured investments totaling $700 million from the UAE in diverse sectors spanning Agro-processing, Renewable Energy, Tourism, Telecommunications, Oil & Gas, Mining, Construction, Security, Health, and Education in the previous year.

Among the prominent UAE entities fostering this economic synergy are Masda, Sharjah Chamber, Rowad Capital, AMEA Power, STREIT Group, Global Gases Group, General Petroleum, Metro Cement, Reportage Properties, and EXIM Finance, among others.

The recognition bestowed upon Uganda at AIM 2024 not only solidifies its status as a premier investment destination but also underscores the country’s commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth and development through strategic partnerships with global stakeholders.
