The closing ceremony, held in Bukedea, was a momentous occasion filled with celebration and national pride, attended by athletes, officials, and sports enthusiasts from across the region.

Minister of State for Sports, Peter Ogwang, who represented the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Museveni, at the event, congratulated Team Uganda for their outstanding performance. In his remarks, Ogwang praised the athletes for their dedication and resilience, which were key to Uganda’s success at the games.

Acknowledging the exceptional hosting by the Directors of Bukedea Comprehensive Secondary School (BCS) and Amus College, Minister Ogwang also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Laurent Petrynska, President of the International School Sport Federation (ISF), for his invaluable contributions to the development of sports in the region. He highlighted the importance of collaboration and support from key stakeholders, including Speaker Annet Anita Among and other officials, in advancing Uganda’s sports agenda.

Looking ahead, Ogwang reaffirmed the Ugandan government’s commitment to investing in sports infrastructure and fostering young talent. “This victory is not just a win for our athletes but a clear indication of the potential we have in Uganda,” he stated. “We will continue to prioritize sports development, from talent identification to creating world-class facilities, to ensure that our athletes compete at the highest levels.”
