Uganda Christian University (UCU) is reeling in shock following the tragic death of its Dean of Students, Pamela, who was attacked by unknown assailants at her home on Tuesday night.

According to information released by the university community, unidentified thugs reportedly broke into her residence and violently assaulted her. She was rushed to hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday morning.

Her death has sent waves of grief across the university and beyond, with students, staff, and alumni describing her as a compassionate leader and a pillar of support within the institution.

Pamela was the youngest Dean of Students at UCU and was widely regarded as a beacon of kindness, strength, and empathy. Many students credit her for being approachable and attentive, often offering guidance and a listening ear during difficult times.

In a brief statement, members of the university community expressed “profound shock and sadness” at her passing, describing her as a beloved colleague, sister, and friend whose life was “brutally cut short.”

“She touched countless lives at UCU and beyond. Her warmth and compassion endeared her to many, and she will be deeply missed,” the statement read.

Security agencies had not yet issued an official statement on the incident by press time. However, investigations are expected to commence to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and bring those responsible to justice.

The killing has also reignited concerns about rising incidents of violent crime targeting professionals in their homes.

UCU management said details regarding funeral arrangements and memorial services will be communicated in due course.

Pamela’s death leaves a significant void in the university’s student leadership structure and in the hearts of the many young people she mentored and supported throughout her service.

She is survived by family, friends, colleagues, and the thousands of students whose lives she impacted.

Further updates will follow as more information becomes available.
