Renowned gospel music group Makoma on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Annet Among, at her residence.
The group was accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer of Vision Group, Don Wanyama, during the visit which comes as the celebrated gospel ensemble prepares for a major performance in Uganda.
Makoma is currently in the country ahead of their scheduled performance on Friday, March 6, as Vision Group marks 40 years of service in Uganda’s media industry. The anniversary celebrations are expected to attract several prominent figures from the media, entertainment, and political sectors.
During the meeting, Speaker Among welcomed the group and commended their contribution to gospel music and faith-based inspiration across Africa and beyond.
According to organisers, the anniversary event will celebrate Vision Group’s four decades of journalism, media development, and public service since its establishment.
Speaker Among is expected to be represented at the celebrations by several Members of Parliament who will attend the event on her behalf. The event will feature performances, reflections on the company’s history, and recognition of individuals who have contributed to the growth of the media house over the years.
