The Inspector General of Government, Aisha Naluzze, has officially launched the 2026 mandatory declaration of income, assets, and liabilities for all public officers.
The exercise, which begins today and runs until April 30, will be conducted entirely online, marking a continued push toward digital compliance and accountability in public service.
The Inspectorate of Government has warned that failure to comply with the declaration requirement will attract strict penalties, including fines, dismissal from public office, or imprisonment.
The annual exercise is part of broader efforts to promote transparency, fight corruption, and ensure that public officials account for their wealth while in service.
