President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has directed that the prime suspect in the recent Ggaba murder case, where four toddlers were killed, be tried within the community where the crime occurred.

The directive aims to allow residents of Ggaba to witness justice being carried out firsthand following the shocking incident.

According to Jane Frances Abodo, the President urged the judiciary to operationalise the use of mobile courts in handling such cases. She noted that the trial should be conducted at or near the scene of the crime to enhance transparency and public confidence in the justice system.

The move is expected to test the effectiveness of mobile court directives previously proposed by the judiciary, while also responding to public outrage and calls for swift justice after the brutal killing of the children.

Authorities say investigations into the case are ongoing as preparations for prosecution continue.
