President Yoweri Museveni has cautioned newly elected Members of Parliament under the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) against corruption and indiscipline, urging them to uphold integrity and responsibility as they take on leadership roles.
Speaking at the opening of the NRM leaders’ retreat at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi, Museveni congratulated the legislators on their electoral victory but emphasized that leadership demands accountability and discipline.
He noted that their election reflects the trust Ugandans have placed in them, but warned that the party’s performance was partly affected by internal weaknesses that must be addressed moving forward.
The President called on the legislators to embrace ideological clarity and remain focused on serving the interests of citizens, stressing that strong leadership and unity within the party are key to advancing national development priorities.
