Arsenal Return to Top After Narrow Win Over Newcastle

Arsenal moved back to the top of the Premier League table with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium.

The decisive moment came early in the match when Eberechi Eze curled a brilliant strike into the top corner in the ninth minute after a clever short-corner routine involving Kai Havertz.

The goal proved enough to separate the sides, despite Newcastle creating several chances through players like Bruno Guimarães and Sandro Tonali.

Manager Eddie Howe made attacking changes in the second half, introducing Yoane Wissa and Harvey Barnes, but Newcastle failed to find an equaliser, with Wissa missing a late opportunity.

The result sees Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, go three points clear at the top, although they have played one game more than rivals Manchester City.

Despite the victory, Arsenal suffered injury concerns as both Havertz and Eze were forced off, which could impact their upcoming fixtures, including a key UEFA Champions League semi-final clash.

For Newcastle, the defeat marks a fourth consecutive league loss, continuing a difficult run of form despite an improved attacking display.

Arsenal’s resilience under pressure keeps them firmly in control of the title race—for now.
