President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Uganda’s newly appointed Cabinet ministers and Ministers of State at State House Entebbe, marking the beginning of a new phase of government administration.

The ceremony saw 78 members of the executive take the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Minister, formally assuming their responsibilities in government.

The swearing-in exercise was guided by the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, Lucy Nakyobe Mbonye, who oversaw the proceedings.

The event attracted senior government officials, judicial leaders, security chiefs, and family members and friends of the newly appointed ministers.

Addressing the gathering, President Museveni congratulated the ministers upon their appointment and urged them to remain focused on delivering services to Ugandans, implementing government programmes, and ensuring accountability in their respective ministries and agencies.

He emphasized the need for teamwork and commitment, noting that the success of the government would depend on the ability of ministers to effectively execute their mandates and respond to the needs of citizens.

The President also reminded the ministers of their responsibility to advance the government’s development agenda and contribute to the country’s socio-economic transformation.

The swearing-in officially marked the commencement of the ministers’ tenure in office, with the new Cabinet expected to begin implementing key government priorities aimed at accelerating economic growth, improving service delivery, and enhancing the welfare of Ugandans.

The newly sworn-in ministers took office at a time when the government was prioritizing wealth creation, industrialization, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and job creation as part of its broader national development strategy.

The ceremony concluded with the ministers receiving congratulations from officials and guests in attendance before taking up their new assignments in government.
