The Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Justine Kasule Lumumba, has said the closure of NMG was prompted by an inquiry instituted by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Speaking to the media, Lumumba said the decision followed the President’s directive to investigate matters concerning the organization, adding that the inquiry is still ongoing.

She declined to disclose details of the investigation, saying government would make the findings public once the inquiry is complete.

“The closure was occasioned by an inquiry instituted by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The details about this inquiry will be disclosed after the inquiry has been concluded,” Lumumba said.

The minister did not elaborate on the scope of the inquiry or indicate when it is expected to be completed.

Her remarks come amid growing public interest over the closure, with stakeholders awaiting an official explanation from government.

Government has maintained that further information will be released after the inquiry is finalized.
