President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Tuesday hosted a luncheon in honour of the outgoing cabinet at State House, Entebbe, in a gesture recognizing their service at the end of the current government term.

During the event, the President commended cabinet members for what he described as their dedication and contribution to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation over the years. He highlighted the collective role played by the team in implementing government programs aimed at improving livelihoods and driving national development.

President Museveni particularly praised the cabinet for what he termed a historic achievement in steering the country toward middle-income status. He noted that the milestone was a result of discipline, coordinated effort, and sustained commitment across government institutions.

“The progress we have made is not by accident. It is a product of clear planning, hard work, and unity of purpose,” he said, according to officials present at the luncheon.

The President also acknowledged the cabinet’s involvement in the recent electoral process, describing the outcome as a shared accomplishment. He expressed confidence that the foundation laid by the outgoing team would support continued economic growth and stability in the next term of government.

Political observers say such engagements often serve as both a send-off and a moment of reflection on policy achievements, while also setting the tone for the incoming cabinet expected to take over key government responsibilities.

The luncheon at State House, Entebbe, marks one of the final official engagements for the outgoing cabinet as the country prepares for the transition into a new phase of governance.
