Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was officially sworn in to lead Uganda for another five-year term during a colorful ceremony marked by military precision, celebration, and state pageantry at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

The swearing-in ceremony commenced after Electoral Commission Chairperson Simon Byabakama formally presented the President-elect to Flavian Zeija, who administered the Oath of Allegiance and the Presidential Oath.

Amid cheers, excitement, and tight security, Museveni pledged to uphold and defend the Constitution before officially assuming office for a new term.

Following the oath-taking, Chief Justice Zeija handed Museveni the Instruments of Power, symbolizing the lawful transfer and continuation of executive authority. The instruments included key state symbols associated with the presidency and constitutional governance.

The ceremony then transitioned into a major military display as Museveni proceeded to inspect the parade for the first time as the newly sworn-in President and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.

Earlier upon his arrival at Kololo, Museveni had been received by senior government officials, military commanders, diplomats, and top leaders of the ruling National Resistance Movement.

The event attracted regional leaders, foreign delegations, religious leaders, and thousands of supporters who gathered to witness the inauguration ceremony, which combined constitutional tradition with elaborate state protocol and national symbolism.
