Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Jacob Oboth-Oboth and Government Chief Whip Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng on Thursday participated in the ongoing induction seminar for Members of Uganda’s 12th Parliament.
The four-day orientation programme is aimed at equipping legislators with the knowledge and skills required to effectively execute their constitutional, legislative, oversight, and representative roles.
The seminar also seeks to strengthen both the individual and collective responsibility of Members of Parliament in delivering quality services to the people of Uganda and promoting good governance.
Speaking during the induction, Dr. Aceng reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with fellow legislators to advance national development and improve the well-being of all Ugandans.
She emphasized the importance of collaboration between Parliament and other arms of government in addressing the country’s development priorities and delivering effective public services.
The induction programme brings together newly elected and returning Members of Parliament to familiarize them with parliamentary procedures, ethical standards, legislative processes, and their responsibilities during the 2026–2031 parliamentary term.
The orientation is expected to conclude with sessions focusing on leadership, accountability, committee work, and effective representation of constituents.
