Territorial Police in Apac District have launched investigations into a violent attack on students of Apac Seed Secondary School that left seven learners injured on the night of April 5, 2026.

The injured include Ivan Ojok Okabo (20), Jonathan Oyile (19), Sam Ocen (20), and Bruce Awany (19), all Senior Four students, as well as Jonathan Alele (17), Ronald Odongo (18), and Bonny Odur, who are in Senior Three.

Preliminary reports indicate that at around 10:00 p.m., a suspicious individual was spotted near the girls’ dormitory. Male students attempted to identify him, but he fled by jumping over the school fence. One student who pursued him was reportedly ambushed and seriously injured by a group of attackers.

Six other students who rushed to help were then confronted by an estimated 15 assailants armed with pangas and knives, leading to multiple injuries. Some victims sustained severe wounds to the head, neck, hands, and ribs.

All the injured students were rushed to Apac Main Hospital for treatment.

According to Patrick Jimmy Okema, a joint team of operational officers and the K9 unit has revisited the scene to aid investigations. He noted that the motive behind the attack remains unclear, and efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Police have assured the public that security operations are underway as investigations continue into the disturbing incident.
