Tensions are running high across the Middle East over the Gaza war in Palestine and the Iran-Israel conflict. Meanwhile, a North Korean delegation is making a rare visit to Iran.
According to media reports, a North Korean delegation led by the International Trade Minister is visiting Iran.
North Korea’s state-run KCNA news agency reported that a delegation led by the country’s Foreign Economic Relations Minister Yoon Jong-ho left Pyongyang on Tuesday by plane to visit Iran. However, the report did not say anything more.
North Korea and Iran have long cooperated on ballistic missile programs, suspected by the West. According to them, these two countries are exchanging technical skills and various materials for making such destructive weapons.
The international news agency Reuters claimed in a report last February that Iran has supplied Russia with a large number of ballistic missiles for use in the war against Ukraine.
North Korea is also suspected of supplying missiles and artillery to Russia, although both countries deny these allegations.
North Korean Minister Yoon Jong-ho has previously worked to improve his country’s relations with Syria, according to South Korean official data.
He was also active in North Korea’s growing exchanges with Russia. According to KCNA, he led a delegation on a visit to Moscow earlier this month as well.
