Pope Leo XIV has concluded a historic one-day visit to Monaco, marking the first papal trip to the principality in nearly 500 years.
During the March 28 visit, the Holy Father met with Monaco’s royal family, engaged with Catholic youth, and celebrated Mass at the Stade Louis II.
The visit, though brief, carried strong spiritual and symbolic significance, with the Pope calling on the wealthy nation to use its resources to promote faith, compassion, and generosity.

Addressing the faithful, Pope Leo XIV emphasized the importance of living out Christian values, urging believers to become instruments of God’s love in a world facing growing social and moral challenges.

The trip also highlighted the Vatican’s continued outreach to global communities, including smaller states, reinforcing the universal nature of the Catholic Church.
The visit is expected to strengthen ties between the Holy See and Monaco, while inspiring renewed commitment among the country’s Catholic community.
