The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretariat has contributed Shs30 million worth of kits towards the upcoming 52nd birthday run of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, in a move aimed at boosting participation and promoting national unity.
NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong, who personally added Shs10 million to the initiative, announced the support during a visit to the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Secretariat.
Todwong commended the organizers, noting that the run is more than a celebration—it is a platform to unite especially the youth around patriotism, community service, and shared national values.
“This initiative brings young people together for a good cause and strengthens the spirit of patriotism and service to the nation,” he said.
He also praised Gen. Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces, describing him as a role model whose leadership continues to inspire many across the country.
According to Todwong, the event reflects maturity, experience, and a continued commitment to national service and social transformation.
The MK Birthday Run is expected to attract thousands of participants, with proceeds aimed at supporting vulnerable communities, reinforcing its position as both a celebratory and charitable national event.
