The Nigeria Consulate General Johannesburg has called on authorities in South Africa to urgently investigate the killing of two Nigerian nationals, amid rising concern over attacks targeting African migrants.
In a statement, the Consul-General condemned the killings and demanded a transparent investigation to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
The mission also cautioned against profiling Nigerians or blaming entire communities for isolated incidents, warning that such actions could worsen tensions and undermine relations among African nationals.
The development comes as fears grow over a possible resurgence of xenophobic violence, with calls for stronger protection of foreign nationals living in South Africa.
