Moses Karangwa Kaliisa, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Duties and Chairperson of the National Resistance Movement in Kayunga District, has died following a fatal road accident in Kayunga.
According to preliminary reports, Karangwa was involved in the accident on Sunday evening at Ssukka Village near Lake Oil in Kayunga District. He was initially rushed to Kayunga Hospital before being referred to Nakasero Hospital, where he later passed away.
Karangwa was a prominent political mobiliser within the ruling NRM party and had long served as an influential figure in Kayunga District politics.
Beyond politics, he was also widely known in the media industry as the proprietor of Sauti FM in Kayunga and City FM in Jinja.
His death is expected to leave a significant gap within both the ruling party structures in Kayunga and the regional media landscape where he maintained strong influence over the years.
Leaders, supporters, and residents from across the region have begun sending condolence messages, describing him as a dedicated mobiliser and businessman who played a visible role in local political and community affairs.
Authorities had not yet released full details surrounding the circumstances of the crash by the time of reporting.
