The US Vice-President Kamala Harris and running mate Tim Walz presented a united front, addressing key issues and criticisms in a highly anticipated first joint interview since announcing their presidential bid

Speaking with CNN’s Dana Bash, Harris defended her changed stance on immigration and climate policies, emphasizing that while her approaches may have adapted, her core values remain consistent.

“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is that my values have not changed,” Harris stated. She acknowledged that circumstances and new information may lead to adjusted approaches, but her underlying principles remain steadfast.

Harris also vowed to “turn the page” on the divisive rhetoric that characterized the Trump era, emphasizing the need for unity and constructive dialogue. She pledged to bring Americans together, focusing on shared goals and values rather than exploiting divisions.

When questioned about the White House’s economic track record, Harris defended the administration’s policies, acknowledging concerns about inflation and high cost of living. She highlighted efforts to address these issues, stressing the importance of a comprehensive approach that balances short-term needs with long-term sustainability.

However, Republican opponent Donald Trump swiftly dismissed the interview as “BORING!!!” and labeled Harris a “fraud” on Truth Social. This reaction underscores the intense political polarization surrounding the presidential race.

Despite criticisms, Harris and Walz presented a united front, focusing on their vision for a better future. Their joint interview marked a significant moment in the campaign, showcasing their partnership and shared commitment to addressing the nation’s challenges.
