Mawokota North Member of Parliament Hilary Kiyaga has announced plans to petition the High Court of Uganda to challenge the victory of Ameria Kyambadde in the recent elections.

Kiyaga, who contested on the ticket of the National Unity Platform, alleges that the election was marred by serious irregularities and electoral malpractice, which he says compromised the credibility of the outcome.

He maintains that the results do not reflect the true will of the voters in Mawokota North and is seeking to have the court nullify Kyambadde’s victory.

The legal challenge is expected to put the electoral process under scrutiny, as courts often examine issues such as vote counting, conduct of electoral officials, and adherence to electoral laws.

Kiyaga says he is determined to pursue justice through legal means, signaling what could become a closely watched election petition.
